Recordings of 9 ghanaian double bells. Bells are arranged in rising pitch of the bottom bell (from _1 to _9); bottom bell is mared -1 and upper bell marked -2. Dynamic are indicated as pp (very soft, with soft marimba mallet) to ff (loud, with wooden stick).

This standup bass was sampled using a direct pickup as well as stereo overhead mics for some room ambience. Articulations include a normal pizzicato, or finger plucked note; a stopped note as performed with the finger; a stopped note performed bartok style; and some miscellaneous sound effects: a slide by the hand down the strings, a slap on the strings, and a knock on the wooden body of the bass. I recorded my raw kick drum with a shure vocal mic and then gave it a bass boost using audacity. Not too bad considering the equipment used. It is a kick drum 22" with an evans emad 2 head, a pillow inside, and a medium quality pdp drumset.

Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

Double bass bowed harmonics. Bass played by houston guy, recorded with a shure ksm44, 24bit mono. I was producing a song and asked mr. Guy to give me some noisy strangness just to layer in for texture and he performed admirably.

Each file contains 3 techniques: single tone, double and ringing bell.
